This is the US Military issue force shield that enables the ballistic helmet to convert for use in riots an civil commotion.  The shield allows unobstructed view whilst affording maximum facial protection from hazards ranging from shrapnel to liquid splash.  Designed to protect against medium to low velocity fragmentation from explosive devices up to 225 metres per second (V50 fragment).
